BLACKPINK’s Debut Concert in Meta Horizon Worlds Marks Their Virtual World Introduction

K-Pop sensation BLACKPINK is set to make history with its first-ever virtual reality (VR) concert experience. The group will perform “BLACKPINK: A VR Encore,” exclusively on Meta Quest, bringing their iconic hits like “How You Like That,” “You & Me,” and “Pink Venom” to fans through an immersive experience. The 70-minute concert aims to transcend traditional viewing and offers fans an unparalleled experience within the metaverse.

BLACKPINK expressed their excitement about embracing the dynamic world of VR and sees the VR concert as an extension of their tour, expressing gratitude to their dedicated fanbase, BLINKs, for their support.

Meta’s VP of Metaverse, Vishal Shah, acknowledged the transformative impact BLACKPINK has on the music industry and expressed enthusiasm for featuring the VR experience in Horizon Worlds, specifically for Meta Quest owners. The “BLACKPINK: A VR Encore” is scheduled to debut in VR on December 26 at 5 p.m. PT. Fans can RSVP to the event and plan their avatar’s concert day look.

In addition to BLACKPINK’s VR show, Meta Horizon Worlds will host a series of weekly concerts in collaboration with iHeartRadio and Red Rocks, all of which will be accessible for free in Music Valley, a specially designed festival environment within World. Interactive elements such as DDR-DJ, ASMR UFO, Keep the Fire Burning, Man, and Lunar Laser add to the dynamic atmosphere, providing entertainment between sets.

The concert series will feature acts like Alison Wonderland, Louis the Child, Santa Fe Klan, Tyler Childers, and ZHU performing at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The concert will also feature performances by Alison Wonderland on December 18 and Louis the Child on December 30, both starting at 5 p.m. PT.
