Expansion of IBM’s collaboration with AWS allows for the integration of generative AI in call centers and supply chains.

IBM Consulting has announced its plans to expand its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and re-engineer their joint solutions for enterprise clients using generative AI. The focus areas for this collaboration will be contact centers, the cloud value chain, and the supply chain.

The aim of this partnership is to help enterprise clients develop generative AI use cases that can drive business value and transformation, while also mitigating risks. By leveraging IBM’s AI expertise and AWS’s platform, the re-engineered solutions with embedded generative AI capabilities will enable mutual clients to rapidly and responsibly scale generative AI applications.

In addition to the joint offerings, IBM Consulting plans to train 10,000 of its consultants on AWS generative AI services. This will make it easier for enterprises to access and utilize IBM’s data, AI, and security solutions through AWS.

For contact centers, IBM Consulting is upgrading its contact center modernization service, IBM Consulting CCM, by incorporating generative AI for summarizing and categorizing voice and digital interactions. This will simplify the transfer from a chatbot to a live agent and improve contact center operations.

In terms of the cloud value chain, IBM Platform Services on AWS will use generative AI to enhance IT Ops, automation, and platform engineering. Features like intelligent issue resolution and observability will improve business serviceability and availability for applications hosted on AWS.

For supply chain professionals, a generative AI-powered virtual assistant on AWS will accelerate workflows and help optimize inventories, reduce costs, streamline logistics, and assess risks.

IBM Consulting also plans to make AWS generative AI services, including Amazon SageMaker, CodeWhisperer, and Bedrock, available on its IBM Consulting Cloud Accelerator. This will aid enterprises in modernizing on AWS. Additionally, the company will train 10,000 of its consultants on the top use cases and best practices for these services.

Furthermore, IBM will bring its own data and AI to AWS by making watsonx.data, a data store built on an open lakehouse architecture, available on the AWS Marketplace as a fully managed SaaS offering. This will be followed by watsonx.ai and watsonx.governance, which will be available on the platform in 2024.

This collaboration between IBM and AWS aims to empower enterprise clients with cutting-edge generative AI solutions across various sectors, enabling them to drive innovation and digital transformation.

Overall, this partnership will further strengthen the capabilities of both companies and provide enterprise clients with enhanced AI solutions to meet their business needs and challenges.
