Fitbit’s Latest Update Adds Highly-Requested Features to Mobile App
Fitbit has announced that it is rolling out another update to its mobile app after receiving feedback from users. This update includes some highly-requested features, but it is not a major overhaul and primarily consists of quality-of-life changes.
One of the new features allows users to see the battery percentage of a connected device in the top left corner of the Today tab, making it more accessible when launching the app. This update also extends the readout support to Pixel Watches, a feature that was previously limited to Fitbit-made trackers and smartwatches.
Returning features in this update include celebratory animations that were removed in an earlier patch. The animations will be available for Android users first, followed by iPhone owners in early January. Additionally, the Steps Streak feature, which was removed in a previous update, is making a comeback, showing users a bar graph detailing their step count throughout the day, week, month, and year.
Fitbit is also allowing users to customize their focus metrics to a specific fitness goal, a feature that was initially introduced in September. The patch is currently being rolled out to all users, with the company urging users to be patient if the update does not immediately appear on their smartphone.
The update comes after Fitbit received criticism for the redesign of its app in September. The company has apologized for the controversial changes and promised to make things right with everyone, with this patch being a result of that commitment.
Overall, Fitbit’s latest update aims to address user feedback and provide a more user-friendly experience for its customers.
