g.tec, a pioneer in neurorehabilitation, is collaborating with partners to expand the reach of recoveriX therapy globally.

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology company, g.tec medical engineering, is seeking partners to expand the availability of its recoveriX treatment for stroke and multiple sclerosis patients. These neurological disorders are affecting a growing number of people worldwide and significantly impacting their quality of life. Stroke cases have increased by 50% in the past 17 years, making it the most common cause of disability globally. Additionally, close to 3 million people worldwide are affected by multiple sclerosis, which causes various physical impairments.

g.tec developed the recoveriX system using brain-computer interface technology. The treatment involves using electrical stimulation to help patients regain movement and function in their limbs. Patients wear a 16-channel EEG headset to monitor their brainwaves while sitting in front of a computer screen that displays their hands or feet. The electrodes connected to their limbs provide electrical stimulation to facilitate joint movement. The repeated use of recoveriX has shown promising results in supporting patients’ limb recovery.

The recoveriX technology is already available in over a dozen countries across multiple continents, but g.tec aims to further expand its reach. The company is particularly interested in partnering with franchisees in countries such as Spain, France, and the UK due to their large populations. g.tec follows a geographic franchise model, allowing franchisees control over a specific area to ensure sufficient patient coverage. The company aims to replicate its successful model in Slovenia, where a single franchise partner plans to open five recoveriX centers to ensure patients do not need to travel long distances for treatment.

Setting up a recoveriX center does not require extensive equipment or financial investment. Franchisees only need a table for the computer and sufficient space for the therapy room. The efficiency of the recoveriX system also allows a single therapist to treat up to three patients simultaneously on different systems. Once a franchise agreement is signed, the franchisees receive three days of training at g.tec’s flagship centers. After treating eight patients, they become certified recoveriX operators. Franchisees can also train their personnel to become trainers for other therapists.

While it takes a couple of weeks to set up an initial recoveriX center, expanding to cover an entire country or state can take around three years. The franchise fee structure is based on a per-treatment basis, reducing the initial risk for franchisees. As the effectiveness of recoveriX becomes evident to patients, there is expected to be a larger influx of patients, further benefiting the centers. Additionally, g.tec aims to expand the recoveriX treatment to address other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and chronic pain.

With the expansion of recoveriX, g.tec aims to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of its innovative treatment for stroke and multiple sclerosis patients worldwide. By partnering with franchisees, g.tec can reach a larger number of individuals, enhancing their lives and recovery outcomes.
