Every major streaming service that I use is hiking prices, with the latest being Apple TV Plus. As a customer of the Apple One Premier subscription bundle since 2020, the new price hike means I could be paying as much as $37.95 / £36.95 monthly starting December 9th. The roughly 27% increase in cost since the bundle’s launch has made me question the value of the services I’m not using. The incremental price hikes are becoming harder to swallow, given the broader trend of subscription services continually demanding more money. In response, being a good deal is no longer enough, especially when it’s not clear how much new content worth watching is coming my way. Unsubscribing from services that I don’t use will now be a top priority. Hence, I’ve chosen to drop all Apple One services except iCloud and Apple TV Plus. With the recent changes, saving almost $20 a month is well worth the loss of any services I rarely use. Heading forward, I’ll be more vigilant about unsubbing from streaming services that I don’t use frequently – this might even include Apple TV Plus in the future.
