Microsoft is set to revolutionize workplace AI tools with the integration of ChatGPT-powered features into its Excel spreadsheets. This move will allow users to create and edit tables directly within a Bing Chat AI window, without the need to switch to the Excel web app. The integration will bring together a variety of data sources in real-time, streamlining the process of table creation and editing.
While these features are still in the testing phase, there are plans to expand integration with other Microsoft 365 tools, including Word and Powerpoint, as well as Google Workspace services. This closer integration with ChatGPT and other productivity tools will allow the AI to access and contextualize information from these platforms, similar to the current system used by Windows Copilot.
There is no official announcement on the wider availability of these features yet, but the company’s recent launch of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which requires an additional fee on top of existing enterprise subscriptions, suggests that these new integrations may also come at a cost.
Stay tuned for further updates on the availability of these features as Microsoft continues to develop its AI-powered productivity tools.
