OpenAI’s highly anticipated developer conference, DevDay, is set to kick off tomorrow, November 6. However, leaks and rumors circulating online may have already unveiled some major surprises. CEO Sam Altman had hyped up the event, promising “great stuff” for developers. A recent tweet from Altman confirmed that there won’t be a GPT-5 or GPT-4.5 but assured that people will still be very pleased with what’s to come.
According to Maximilian Schreiner at The Decoder, OpenAI is preparing to release a new user interface for its popular chatbot, ChatGPT. Additionally, they are working on a new tool that will enable third parties to create their own chatbots with unique styles and responses using OpenAI’s powerful language models, GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.
Furthermore, OpenAI is rumored to be introducing “connectors” that will allow users to integrate their third-party cloud drives, such as Google Drive and Microsoft 365, with ChatGPT. This feature could potentially enable ChatGPT to access and provide information from private files, surpassing Google Bard’s capabilities.
To cater to different user needs, OpenAI is reportedly introducing new subscription plans. These plans include a Team Plan priced at $30 per month (or $25 when paid annually) per user for up to three members. The Team Plan offers unlimited access to GPT-4, longer context capabilities, and unlimited usage of the Advanced Data Analytics model.
While OpenAI has yet to confirm the leaked information, many in the AI community consider the leaks to be highly plausible. NVIDIA’s senior AI scientist, Jim Fan, commented on LinkedIn that OpenAI’s upcoming releases could mark a significant moment for the AI consumer market, as OpenAI transforms into a user-generated content (UGC) platform.
