Samsung to Hold Galaxy S24 Unpacked Event in the US in Mid-January

In a recent report, it has been revealed that Samsung is planning to host its Galaxy S24 Unpacked event in the United States in mid-January. According to the Korean outlet Biz SBS, the event is set to take place on January 17, although there is some uncertainty surrounding the exact date due to the time difference between China and the US. Famous insider Ice Universe has suggested that the event might occur on January 18 instead.

Insiders suggest that Samsung is strategically focusing on the Galaxy S24 launch to boost its earnings, especially considering the declining sales of semiconductors. By emphasizing the Galaxy S24 series, the South Korean tech giant is preparing for potentially challenging times.

Dubbed the “AI Phone,” the Samsung Galaxy S24 is expected to offer more than just the typical smartphone features. According to Sammobile, the device will include features similar to ChatGPT and Dall-E, showcasing its generative AI capabilities. The internally developed Exynos 2400 processor is set to feature notable performance enhancements, including a 30% faster GPU, a 70% faster CPU, and a 14.7 times faster NPU.

The powerful CPU will enable on-device AI processing, allowing for capabilities such as text-to-image conversion. Additionally, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might come with a titanium frame, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro. It is expected that all devices in the series will feature dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO panels, capable of producing an impressive peak brightness of 2,500 nits.

In a departure from its usual timeline, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S24 series earlier than usual, with a potential mid-January 2024 release date and shipments starting in the same month.

Furthermore, there are reports suggesting significant improvements in Samsung’s fast charging capabilities. According to business insider Revegnus, Samsung’s quick charging technology has advanced to 65 watts and 140 watts. Atum, a charger transformer provider for Samsung, has also added 65W and 140W chargers to its lineup. While it remains unclear whether these chargers are meant for smartphones or laptops, fans of the Galaxy S24 series might have to wait for the next generation of Samsung devices to benefit from these advancements.

As the anticipation for the Galaxy S24 series builds, it is evident that Samsung is positioning itself to regain momentum and exceed expectations with its upcoming flagship smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated launch.
