There’s a new and exciting tech to be aware of. Getac has released the S410 G5. The G4 model featured the Intel 11th generation Core i5-1135G7 processor, but has now been updated to the 13th-generation Raptor Lake i5-13500H in the G5 model. The new silicon brings a notable performance boost, better battery life and an improved port selection.
On the downside, the G5 remains remarkably heavy and more expensive when accessories and add-ons are taken into consideration. With a starting price of around $4,000 for the base model, and reaching upwards of double that for more advanced versions, it’s not a budget-friendly choice.
The machine doesn’t come with a fixed cost, as each one is customised for the customer. For those in the UK, the entry-level hardware starts at £1760.53, exclusive of VAT.
In terms of design, the G5 has retained much of the same modularity and durability as its predecessor, making it ideal for those in need of a laptop that can withstand wear and tear. However, the heavy weight and large size of the machine may not make it the best choice for those constantly on the move. The 14-inch screen might also seem small for the scale of the laptop.
In terms of technical specifications, the G5 runs on the Intel Core i5-1350P, has 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. It also includes a comprehensive list of ports and I/O options.
In a bid to outdo its competitors, Getac explored new territory with the 13th-generation platform in the G5, offering a considerable performance boost. But despite this, the machine is held back by its heavy weight and high cost. Nevertheless, for those in need of a durable and highly modular laptop, the Getac S410 G5 may be a worthy investment.
